The Illusion

Screen print ink and puff-paste on various cotton garments, 2025

This body of work is inspired by the concept of trompe l’oel, an illusionistic form of realism that attempts to make something look physically present. I used different screen print and fabric manipulation techniques to replicate the distressing on an old pair of cotton sweatpants onto new garments. I implemented puff-paste printing to add surface texture and enhance the illusionary effect. I repeated this technique across multiple garments.
